California!

Jonathan had to be away for 2 weeks for a work training in California a few weeks ago and Aiden and I were lucky enough to get to go visit for the weekend and go to Sea World and Disneyland! It was a jam packed weekend but we had such a fun time! Not to mention how nice it was to get away from this yucky air and snow!

Aiden was SO excited to see Mickey! I thought he might be scared of him but he ran right to him and gave him a big hug! He was a lot happier about it then he looks in this picture.
Aiden even got a "first time" button to wear and we were given a "we're celebrating" button because it was Aidens first time. He thought they were pretty cool! (sorry I'm not sure how to rotate the picture)

We also went to the beach to watch the sunset and Aiden loved it! I wasn't sure if he would like it because sometimes he's weird about getting dirty but he wanted to take his shoes off and walk in the sand. The water was freezing but he loved running away from the waves, chasing the birds and letting the water touch his toes. He could have stayed for hours!
It was a short but sweet getaway and we experienced many "firsts" for Aiden which is always fun. Of course we were happy to see Jonathan to break up the long 2 weeks period he was away!

The Last 3 Months

Over the last 3 months we have been busy adjusting to life with two little guys instead of just one. Mason is growing and changing every day! He is full of smiles and a major head of hair that keeps growing and growing and not a strand of it has fallen out! He officially has a mullet and I'm not going to lie, some days I am tempted to put a pony tail and bow in his hair!! I think his dad would be a little upset with me so I refrain myself :)

I stole this idea from some fellow bloggers to show the changes he makes from month to month....

All my cute boys :) Aiden and Mason were matching for church and Jonathan happened to match them too so of course I had to take a photo!

I decided to put Mason in a little baby stroller to keep him entertained and he LOVED it! He looked so funny in it but he fit perfect! We had to do this for a few days because Aiden thought it was pretty fun to push his brother around.
During a jewelry show Aiden apparently got really tired and my mom and I found him asleep like this. This is the kid that never falls asleep anywhere but a bed or a car seat let alone half standing up....

A few days ago the boys and I got to go with some of our best friends Meg and Cash to Idaho Falls to visit Brekke and Crue! It was nice to get away and a stay up late with the girls talking and to let Aiden play with his friends (even though Aiden had a horrible case of the terrible two's while we were there!). We went to a park to feed the ducks and see the waterfalls one day and the kids loved it! It was freezing cold but they loved running after the mass amounts of ducks that surrounded them!

Mason Riley Day! Born October 8th 6 pounds 1 ounce and 18 inches long!

check out all that hair!

Saturday morning at 4:30 I was woken up by my water breaking! After getting a few things together and getting my mom to our house to be with the kids we headed to the hospital. 12 hours later this little stinker was born! Things went very smooth and I was amazed at how good I felt after! We were a little worried because my due date was not for another 3 weeks and 2 days so we were hoping Mason was really ready and wouldn't need any extra help. Pretty much the moment he was born we knew he was going to be just fine when he came out screaming at the top of his lungs and continued to do so until he was all cleaned up and warm! We knew his lungs were just fine and the nurse just said "good luck with that scream!" A few hours later Mason got to meet his big brothers and sister and they were all so cute with him and couldn't wait to hold him :) We weren't sure how Aiden was going to react but he was so excited and climbed right up in my lap and kept saying "so cute, so cute". We couldn't be happier with our new addition to our family!

This post would be incomplete if I didn't mention all the help from so many amazing family members and friends we had this weekend with the kids and all the other madness we had going on. Mason decided to make his entrance on the busiest weekend we've had planned in months and between multiple family members and friends everything got taken care of and the kids were endlessly entertained and spoiled! THANK YOU! We couldn't have done it without you!

2 Years

I can't believe my little guy is already 2! Time has moved so fast and I still look at this little face and fall in love every time! He is such a blessing in my life and I have loved every day watching him grow up and change these last 2 years. He is such a good boy and has only given us a tiny glimpse at the terrible 2's so far! He talks ALL day long and I am able to understand most of what he says with a few guesses here and there. He loves his family and loves to play trucks, read books and go swimming! He is still attached to his giant stuffed animal Snowman that has to go pretty much everywhere he goes except when we are able to sneak him away to put him in the wash.... He gets obsessed with his "owies" and can sometimes whine over them for days at a time or until they are healed and gone. He has names for all the different pairs of shoes he wears (grandma shoes, daddy shoes etc.) He has to tell you about every truck, bus, bike, motorcycle etc that he sees when we are driving around and loves to listen for airplanes and sirens from firetrucks. He is a horrible eater so we are lucky if he eats one good meal a day some days but despite that he still has his adorable round cheeks that I just love to kiss! He is very generous with his hugs and kisses and anyone with white hair he sees he will yell out "hi grandma" or "hi grandpa". He never fails to make us all smile with something new and funny each day! Happy Birthday Aiden! I sure do Love You!

I've been laughing to myself a lot about some of the funny things Aiden has been doing and saying lately and thought I would share them and also have a place a can look back at and remember....

He loves to jump and jumps everywhere he goes. My mom just says "boing boing boing" to him and he will start jumping.

When he wakes up in the morning he will usually start yelling mamma mamma. If we are not quite ready to get up we will let him hang out in bed for a little bit and he slowly moves on to a new name yelling daddy daddy and when that doesn't work he resorts to yelling for his mema (my mom). If that doesn't work he does this super high pitch screech not a sad or upset screech just a really loud one. It's pretty entertaining.

If Aiden or anyone else sneezes he says "bless you"

He hasn't started to talk tons yet so a lot of the time we're left playing the guessing game of what he is trying to say or what he wants. I'll guess and guess and if I finally get it right instead of saying yes he says "yay!!" and he's usually so excited about it.

I always try to have him ask nicely for things he wants so if he asks for something I'll say "what do you say?" and he'll say "please" Lately he hasn't been very good at listening to what he is told so sometimes I will say "Aiden! what did mom say?" he responds saying "Please" obviously getting it confused with what do YOU say. Kind of funny.

When we drive to my dads office we pass a trax station and he LOVES the train. He has now decided that after we pass the station he is going to whine all the way home saying choo choo where are you???? I think we need to take him for a ride on Trax sometime.

He is obsessed with basketball and basketball hoops and everywhere we drive he points out all the basketball hoops saying "b ball!!" The simple things make him so happy and it always makes me smile.

Last but not least he is a little obsessed with his dad right now. He's always concerned about where dad is and when dad leaves he cries and walks around the house "dad, are you??" Every time we pass a white SUV he thinks its Jonathans car and yells DAD!! Its kind of cute to watch him adore his dad so much! You never think that such small things could make you smile or make you want to blog about them just so you don't forget. He is growing up so fast and it makes me sad but each stage we hit bring more laughter and frustration but always a happy feeling at the end of the day.
